• BITSYMAPS_SESSID: essential session cookie. Keeps you signed in and maintains account security. It can renew while you use the platform and last up to 30 days of inactivity.
• bm_device: essential security cookie. Helps recognize devices used to sign in and send new-device alerts. Lasts up to 1 year.
• bm_sid: operational measurement cookie. Helps generate visit, click, and conversion metrics with pseudonymized identifiers. Its duration is configured on the platform and can normally be up to 365 days.
• bm_csid: browser sessionStorage. Identifies the page session to group technical events until you close the tab or the browser clears it.

3. What they are used for

We use these technologies to authenticate users, protect forms and accounts, remember sessions, detect unusual access, prevent abuse, measure profile performance, and improve the platform. The metrics help businesses understand visits, impressions, clicks, and conversions operationally.

4. What we do not currently use

We do not use third-party behavioral advertising cookies or cross-site trackers to sell personal data. If we add advertising tools, third-party measurement, or non-essential technologies, we will update this policy and, where applicable, request consent or offer additional controls.

5. How to control them

You can delete or block cookies from your browser. If you block essential cookies, you may not be able to sign in, save preferences, use protected features, or maintain account security. If you delete cookies or local storage, the platform may create new identifiers and lose session continuity or previous metrics.

6. Privacy signals

Bitsy Maps does not currently sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising. If applicable law requires recognizing signals such as Global Privacy Control for a future practice, we will enable the corresponding mechanism and explain it on this page.
